Note: Cash only!!
I used to live in Oakdale... and there isn't a single restaurant in that town that I can even recommend as good.
Wong's is about a 10-15 min drive from oakdale. its take out only. hole in the wall type restaurant. very very good! now... i am a vegetarian so i have only had a few of their dishes but the chow mein is out-of-this-world. I live in the bay area now & still miss this place.
If you come across this review & are headed eastward on Hwy 120...towards oakdale & on your way to Yosemite...def stop in escalon for some chinese cookin'. map it on your phone. -

That's funny just because there is Chinese people doesn't mean this is Chinese food... I had to give 1 star but really it's 0 stars ... you want fake Chinese food Panda Express is a better option.

This place is amazing! Take-out only so you know it's good when all the waiting chairs are full & people are standing. My dad has been going since he was in high school! We moved to riverbank, we'd still go. Now living in Modesto & we still go all the way to Escalon for a #2 w/ a side of broccoli beefthe wait time isn't even too long then again we always call in our order. By the time we get there is ready. We get home & it's still warm! Love loVE LOVE this place.

THEY ONLY TAKE CASH. I didn't see anywhere on here that stated that. So, if you are like me make sure to take cash. Anyways, I tried to order the lunc special orange chicken with pork chow mein but unfortunately they could not sub the pork chow mein for chicken even if I paid more. So that was a bit frustrating because I don't eat pork. Instead her response was to buy 1 small side of chicken chow mein and a side of orange for 14 dollars.... I didint realize ordering chicken would bump up the price 50%.. Anyways, the chicken is like a fried chicken and then they just add these "orange sauce" and it smelled and tasted weird. Since I don't want to make it seem that I was just upset about the price I will say that the chow mein was good... but it was half a cup of a serving and it was 7 dollars... definitely will not go back. Not great food and expensive for the quality of food it is.

The chow mein and rice had a great meaty combination, but the orange chicken was trash.....half of the pieces were hard and there was no flavor, tasted like eggrole with chicken lol. I chose the breaded shrimp, it had so much bread stuffing that I was grows out! First time ever I go to a food place and I can't customize my meal for an additional fee! I wanted to try out her BBQ pork, but she refused to sell me a piece, not even a slice...wtf? In order to taste it I had to buy one of the plate specials which start at $6.99 for the small. Smh. Lady was nice and took my sarcasm positively when I wanted 4 soy sauce and she asked why so many lol.
